Orthodontic treatment - why should I do it? And how would it even be achieved anyway?

One of the mysteries of dentistry seems to be how we get the teeth and shape of the face to develop well and in an aesthetically pleasing manner as we move from childhood into adolescence, or even if you’ve left it a little late - as an adult! I’m sure you’re aware of terms like “crooked teeth, overbite, buck-toothed”...

There are a few compelling reasons to get teeth straightened - to improve confidence, make a good first impression, make it easier to clean and maintain your oral health. The final reason - if you have a great smile and want to use it more, you’ll release more endorphins as a smiley person and maybe it’ll help you live just a little longer!

With the advances in digital technology, many patients may end up qualifying to have treatment completed using Invisalign - a brand of clear aligner referred to as “the clear alternative to braces”, and can treat almost all cases just as effectively. The process is achieved by using a series of clear, removable aligners to progressively and incrementally move teeth over a period of months to eventually create straight teeth.

Other benefits that this technology have,

  • are that they are less noticeable than braces,
  • they are completely removable which allows you to brush your teeth and floss without any interference,
  • they don’t require you to stop eating certain foods (which could break orthodontic brackets off), and
  • Invisalign combined with at-home monitoring can require fewer visits to the dental office!

We would love to explain this more to you. Call in and meet Dr Victor Tiong to see if he can assist you learn if we are able to help with your condition.

Free Kids Dental

Our Team at Eclipse believes that all children should have access to dental care in order to prevent dental issues early in life. Often, dental decay and gum disease can be present even in the absence of pain or other symptoms. Left untreated these can cause huge problems during your child’s important developing years, making them vulnerable to other dental issues which may affect them for the rest of their life. At ECLIPSE we believe that every child should have a good start with their dental health and that tooth decay and gum disease are totally preventable.

At ECLIPSE we are BULK BILLING all children who are eligible for the Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS).

Each child is eligible for up to $1000 worth of general dental treatment (including checkups, x-rays, preventative fissure seals, fillings and dental extractions) over 2 consecutive calendar years. To find out if your child is eligible, give us a call and one of our lovely staff members can find out for you.
