The Facts about financial support for basic dental services for children aged 2-17 years under the CDBS.

ELIGIBILITY: Child is aged 2-17 years and is part of a family that receives a relevant Australian government payment such as Family Tax. Be aware that if your Family Tax Benefit changes your child may nolonger be eligible in 2018 even though they were eligible 2017. You can confirm your child?s current eligibility and balance amount by accessing your Medicare online account at or calling Medicare on 132 011. Alternatively, call us on 4392 7666 and speak to one of our friendly team members who will assist you with your enquiry.

BENEFITS AVAILABLE: In 2018 benefits for basic dental services are capped at $1,000 per child over 2 consecutive calendar years (2018-2019). Benefits cover a range of services including examinations,
x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, root canals and extractions. Benefits do not cover orthodontic or cosmetic dental work.

PROCESS FOR USING THE CDBS: Call us on 4392 7666 for an appointment. At the time of the appointment, we will provide a thorough examination and discuss your child?s treatment needs and any costs with you before providing the services. After this has been discussed, you will need to sign a consent form.

CLAIMING BENEFITS UNDER THE CDBS: For your convenience, we will bulk bill your claim electronically. There is nothing you need to do – it is that simple!

WHAT IF MY CHILD REQUIRES TREATMENT NOT COVERED BY THE CDBS: In the unlikely event that your child requires treatment which is not covered by the schedule, you will be informed about costs before treatment is commenced and consent has been obtained.
