WHAT IS THE CDBS? This popular scheme was first introduced in January 2014 and continues basically unchanged for 2019. It
is a Commonwealth funded capped benefits entitlement for basic dental services for children where financial support is most needed. Around 3.4 million children aged 2-17 in families who meet a means test is eligible for benefits. The means test requires receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A or certain government payments. Services for basic essential dental treatment, such as check-ups, x-rays, fillings and extractions is included, the total benefit entitlements is capped at $1,000 per child over a two year cycle.
